THE MAKING OF THE RANKIN/BASS HOLIDAY CLASSIC: RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER "The Book" Coming to this website in the Fall of 2001!

The NEWEST NEWS on the book is that we have decided to do it as a collector's HARDCOVER 6" x 9", 200+ pages with 8 in color. The hardcover of THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS sold out almost immediately, so we may take Pre-orders on this one towards the end of the Summer.

This book details everything from the GE COMMERCIALS to how the ANIMAGIC process became the Animation process of choice for RANKIN/BASS. This special set the tone for many to follow and the contributions of Arthur Rankin, Jules Bass, Romeo Muller, Johnny Marks, Burl Ives, Maury Laws, Billie Mae Richards, Paul Soles, Bernard Cowan, Tony Peters, Bill Giles and the long list goes on and on, are significant and this eclectic group of people made a special that continues to grab audiences year after year after year!

SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN CD arrives for 30th ANNIVERSARY celebration!

To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the RANKIN/BASS Special SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN, we have put together a CD from the RARE Red Vinyl Edition (From Romeo Muller's Collection) of the entire Special in STEREO for a Promotional CD. We have also added RARE BONUS Tracks including the DEMO for "The First Toy Maker To The King," and the unedited version of SD KLUGER'S "CHRISTMAS CAROL" from the very RARE RED Christmas Card LP that Maury Laws and Jules Bass gave out to close associates in the early 1970's. We also added a few tracks from THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS too (Which never had a Soundtrack LP or DEMO LP Produced). GOLDEN BOOKS Takeover by DIC!

You can read all about this at www.videobusiness.com. What we know about this is the fact that GOLDEN BOOKS FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT once again filed Bankruptcy on June 4th, 2001. DIC bought GOLDEN BOOKS and their large Animation catalog. Apparently, this does not effect the arrangements with SONY WONDER and the release of the RANKIN/BASS titles on DVD this year, so keep your fingers crossed on the future of the RANKIN/BASS titles.
